Aks Balaclava
Aks balaclava is a soft and airy balaclava knitted with the characteristic hearts-stitch that adorns several of my patterns. It is knitted in blow yarn and is therefore both light, soft and warm. The balaclava has a slim fit and the elastic structure makes it sit well on the head.
The balaclava is first worked from the forehead and towards the back of the head. Stitches are picked up to the sides which are worked down towards the neck. The work is gathered under the chin before working ribbing around the neck. Next, stitches are picked up around the face for ribbing. All ribbed edges are finished with double knitting and Italian bind off for a neat and elastic result.
The brownish-pink balaclava in the pictures in the pattern is knitted in Gepard Puno in the color 422 Old Rose. The white balaclava is knitted in CaMaRose snowflake in the color Snehvid.
The Aks Balaclava is a very special pattern for me, as it is the very first garment I designed and wrote the pattern for. In 2026, the pattern got a little makeover with a new visual design and more sizes added.
