The hat is worked from top to bottom, with a Turkish cast on that gives an almost invisible edge. Working from the top with increases on each side until the hat measures the desired length, 2 rounds of double knitting are worked before Italian bind off. Choose a yarn that will suit the hat’s owner best, Peruvian Highland Wool or Double Sunday is recommended for children.

Since the hat is worked from the top down, it can be tried on along the way by moving the stitches onto a long circular needle/stitch wire to determine how long the hat should be worked.
