Alastria is a graceful, quick and satisfying knit that is beautifully wearable.

Its impact comes from its unusual shape and construction, and just a few dramatic slip-stitch swoops. A single row of eyelets gives it a final spark of interest.

The name is a very nerdy Start Trek Voyager reference, which only diehard fans will remember without looking it up.

The shawl is shown in an exceptionally bouncy Aran weight yarn in a solid color. Tonals would work, too, or any colorway that shows stitch definition to highlight the swoops. Variegated yarn is not recommended.

The shawl can be crafted with any weight yarn, though instructions are not included for changing gauges and yarn requirements.
