The Alba Turtleneck is a hip-length, drop shoulder turtleneck with flattering tapered sleeves. It’s worked almost entirely out of HTR/HDC in DK yarn and is very easily customisable to make as long or as short in the body as you wish. It’s a super beginner-friendly pattern, available in both UK & US terminology so you don’t have to translate stitches.

I used Stylecraft Special DK in ‘Aster’, but any DK that meets the gauge will work perfectly. This pattern really does work well in a variety of colours and on a range of body types, just check out the tester pictures!

Bust sizes given as XS (S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X): 100 (110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170, 180) cm, requiring 1334 (1477, 1665, 1800, 1977, 2125, 2311, 2457, 2665) metres of DK yarn.

The garment is designed to have approximately 22-24cm positive ease (looser fit) on the bust and around 6-9cm positive ease on the arms, ensuring an oversized fit. If you’re between sizes or prefer a more fitted jumper, size down.
