Meet Albert, a rather amiable little alligator. Don’t let those teeth scare you-- Albert just loves to smile at everyone that he meets.

He can be made in any yarn and hook combination you want. Just be certain that the fabric is firm enough that stuffing does not show through.

My Albert is made in Vanna’s Choice Solids using two colors:

  • Color 1: Fern (200yards)
  • Color 2: White (20 yards)

Albert is an Intermediate-level pattern. Skills you will need include basic crochet stitches, increases, decreases, bobbles, single crochet into the bottom of a foundation chain, joining new yarn with single crochet, and some seaming. Included is a photo tutorial on how create child-safe eyes from felt, although instructions for using plastic safety eyes are given as well.

The pattern has plenty of progress photos to help you along your way to making your own smiling alligator.
