Alcyone the star is one of the Pleiades.

Alcyone the sweater has twist stitch stars in the yoke, 5 different sizes of them so that the decorations are in proportion to the sizes. It is worked bottom up, in the round. The trunk is all stockinette above the decorative edging, so there is plenty of plain knitting to work your favorite shaping modifications in. The hems and yoke are decorated in twist stitch hexagons and stars.

I’ve loaded the schematic into the photos.

The measurements are based on Ysolda’s sizes, so the sleeves especially are shorter than the CYC measurements. Check the length of a sweater that fits the intended wearer well against the schematic just in case extra rounds are needed before the yoke join.

A comparison with that sweater that fits well will also help in the cuffs. The cuffs as written in the smaller sizes do not have much ease. If so, use a larger size for the cuffs with fewer increases above the cuffs to reach the bicep stitch count.

My gauge in the twist stitch sections were
23 sts/29 rows = 4”, 10cm, a bit tighter than the stockinette.

I recommend locking stitch markers, and a tapestry needle for notions.

There are 5, 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10) 13, 14 skeins
needed for each size.

Alcyone is is one of seven designs in the Rise Up Collection, a collaboration by Knit Eco Chic, Christine Guest Designs, Laura Patterson (Fiber Dreams), Marcela Chang, Ruth Brasch Designs, Jill Wolcott Knits, and Knit Equals Joy Designs. It will be available for single purchase in February.
