Alden is an easy-to-knit, versatile shawl with a beautiful textured pattern. Its unique trapezoidal shape makes it easy to wear in a variety of different ways. Alden is suitable for fingering or sport weight yarns, and the length is adjustable- make it as long or short as you want!
At least 450 m (492 yd) of a fingering or sport weight yarn is recommended. More yarn will make a longer shawl- for example, 448 m makes a shawl approximately 60” long.
Gauge is variable- approx. 21-24 sts per 4” ( 10 cm) on a 3.0 mm (US 2.5) needle. Gauge may vary with yarn choice.
Stitches used in this pattern include knit, purl, yarn over, slip slip knit, and knit 2 together.
