Alder mitts
The Alder mitts are designed for everyday
wear in colder weather. They combine
a clean shape with subtle surface detail.
The cuffs are worked in twisted rib for
a close, elastic fit that keeps the mitts comfortably
in place. The hand is worked in smooth
Stockinette stitch, allowing the cable pattern on
the back of the hand to stand out.
The mitts are worked in the round from the cuff
up, with the thumb shaped using gusset increases
for a natural and comfortable fit. The finger and
thumb openings are finished with simple ribbing,
creating a neat and practical edge.
