Alexander Street is a contemporary boatneck pullover that features a multi-directional use of a knit 3, purl 2 rib pattern. The sleeves, front, and back yoke are worked side to side in one piece, beginning at the right sleeve cuff. To complete the back of the sweater, stitches are picked up from the back yoke and worked down, so the rib pattern there runs vertically, adding both interest and additional ease. A ribbed bottom border on the front echoes the vertical rib pattern of the back.
