This sweater and the name is meaningful for me! The name is taken from a song called ‘Alfonsina & el mar (the sea) ‘ that was sung by Mercedes Sosa and was inspired by Alfonsina Storni who was one of Argentina’s most famous poets. The song tells the story how Alfonsina, who was suffering from an incurable illness, walks to the sea and sees all around her how beautiful the world is..

Alfonsina is a bottom up pullover with a matching stranded colourwork motif on the yoke and the forearms.
