Alien Emissary is an asymmetrical, curved, triangular shawl and is the sister of the “Bjayzl” shawl, with some inventive design features that take it to new places! It starts with an alternating I-cord cast on, and ‘feathers’ of spines and webs that make the shawl grow in stacked wedges. The holey webs are created by bind off and cast on stitches. It also employs the use of German Short Rows to create the fan effect.

Select either the shallow or the deeper shawl (of course, the deeper shawl requires more yarn, so consider all your options). As it grows, it can be made as long as you like, and when deciding your bind off, you have two choices!

Asymmetrical shawls always pose the question of how to wear it, but with the addition of pairs of buttons (and all those holes!), a myriad of wearing options and stability are at your disposal.
