This shawl shape was inspired by the Cylon Raiders of Battlestar Galactica. Short rows are used to make the points longer, emphasizing the shape and making the shawl easy to wear, even with only one skein of fingering weight yarn. Tweed or glitter yarn can give it a galaxy look.

Besides the instructions for how to knit this shawl shape, this pattern also includes three different versions you can choose from. You can add little raiders or leaves in the middle section of the shawl for a bit of texture or delicate lace. Or you can play with colors by adding minis around the outer edge of the shawl. The pattern is very versatile and easy to adjust. Different stitch patterns can be added to the middle section and the shawl can be made larger if you wish to do so. It’s an easy to wear spaceship shawl template!
