Ahoy there! The waves on this beautifully simple blanket are made using just basic knit and purl stitches, making this nautical nursery accessory a breeze to knit. What’s more, it’s worked all in one, so there’s no need to sew on the border after the knitting is complete, and the unisex design means it’s also a good baby shower gift.

You will need 10mm (US 15) needles and super chunky yarn. Instructions are given for three sizes, measurements and yarn requirements are:

Small: 62 x 61cm (25 x24”) - 400g/324m (356yds)
Medium: 74 x 73cm (29 x 29”) - 500g/405m (445yds)
Large: 86 x 84cm (34 x 33”) - 700g/567m (623yds)

I used King Cole Big Value Super Chunky, an easy care, acrylic yarn. The pattern will work with most yarns, but if you choose an alternative please check the tension and yardage carefully.
