This DK weight blanket was a special knit for my darling baby boy who started his life All Cooped Up in a pandemic instead of surrounded by friends and relatives. I was desperate for a little levity after the long days and longer nights. We have really missed our “village” during this lonely and isolating time.

I chose a special yarn for this project that would be both baby soft and baby strong (babies are tough on their loveys!). Crafty Jaks hand-dyed “Delicious DK” is 100% BlueFaced Leicester yarn. BFL is known for its shine and luster, its gorgeous drape, its long-lasting strength, and its unbelievable softness. We all deserve a special blanket after this crazy and difficult time of being stuck at home, and this blanket is so soft and comforting.

Because All Cooped Up Blanket is worked bottom-up and in the round it comes along surprisingly quickly and it is the perfect “first steek” project. It could, however, be worked flat by omitting the 5 steek stitches. Happy Knitting!
