Knit up using one skein of June Cashmere lace, this stylish hat is worked in the round from brim to crown. A turned hem adds stability to the brim while short-rows enhance the slouch, giving a light, warm, incredibly soft hat that fits in your pocket.

One 50g skein, approx. 308 yds of June Cashmere Lace (100% Kyrgyz Cashmere) in slate
One size 2.5 (3mm) circular needle 16”/40cm long OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
One set 2.5 (3mm) double-pointed needles
One 2 (2.75mm) circular needle 16”/40cm long Stitch markers
Scrap yarn in contrasting lace weight color

GAUGE
29 sts and 49 rnds = 4”/10cm in Ladder Stitch in the rnd using larger needles

Errata: These errors have been corrected in the current pattern text.

In the body of the hat, the repeat instructions should read: “Repeat from * once more: 2 short-row sections with 11 rnds of ladder st after each short-row section. Work a third short row section.”

In the Shape Crown section:

  • Round 4 should read: Sl 2 wyif, k to first marker, sl 2 wyif, k to 2 sts before next marker, k2tog, sl 2 wyif, k to next marker, sl 2 wyif 5 times, k to last 2 sts, k2tog—132 sts.

  • Round 9 should read: “K to 2 sts before 2nd marker, k2tog, k 2 sts before 4th marker, k2tog, k to 2 sts before 6th marker, k2tog, k to 2 sts before 8th marker, k2tog, k to 2 sts before 10th marker, k2tog, k to last 2 sts, k2tog—120 sts.”
