This fabulous smock stitch slouch comes in two variations: A Touch of Smock (just smock stitch in the brim) and A Smidge More Smock (smock stitch brim and smock stitch horizontal sections throughout). This slouch is knitted in the round first, on size 1 16-inch circular needles, and then size 3’s. The instructions are for one size but the pdf has notes for going up or down sizes. The gauge should be 7 stitches per inch. You will need: one skein of Yarnitude Sassy Sock (you should be able to get 2 hats out of one skein!) size 1 & 3 16-inch circular needles, size 3 DPN’s (double-pointed needles), and a darning needle. Beads are optional. If you choose to bead your “smocks” you will need size 8 glass beads and a stranding needle. This is a very fun pattern and quick knit. Enjoy!
