Colorwork is not just for knitters, nor does it need to have that “traditional” look. This happy project turns colorwork on its head with its bright colors and oversized houndstooth pattern and is just oozing retro 80’s/90’s vibes! If you have never worked in tapestry crochet before, this is the perfect project for learning the basics! This bag features an optional fabric lining for extra stability, zipper, and adorable heart charm just for fun.

Finished Measurements
Bag measures about 8.5” x 6.25” 21.5 cm x 16 cm

Materials
• Approximately 105 yds 96 m sport weight yarn (CYCA#2) in each of two colors in any fiber content to be used for the pouch. Choose a yarn without much texture or halo, for best results
• Approximately 25 yds 23 m sport weight yarn (CYCA#2) to be used for the heart charm. Choose a yarn without much texture or halo, for best results
• US C/2 2.75 mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Yarn Needle
• Removeable stitch marker to keep track of the first stitch of the round
• About 10” 25.5 cm x 14” 36 cm piece of fabric for lining (optional). I used a rip-stop fabric so that I can use this as a small make-up bag, but laminate cotton or even a woven cotton lining (such as quilter’s cotton) would work well too.
• One 9” 23 cm zipper (this will be shortened to fit)
• Small amount of polyester fiberfill to stuff heart charm
• Hand sewing needle and matching thread (thread should match C2, and another color to match lining if desired)
