All the Single Stitches
We know the single crochet, but do you know all the ways you can single crochet?
In this pattern, we practice and explore 7 different ways we can make a single crochet stitch. And since I love to make my swatches and learning into a useable product, we’ll create fun little coasters!
I’ve put this pattern together as a learning pattern because I’m teaching a program with my crochet guild called Single Crochet in Many Ways. Choose to make the sampler coaster pattern with 6-7 different single crochet stitches, or practice those stitches by making a coaster with just one of the stitches for the body.
Included is a picture tutorial for each of the different single crochet stitches. For those that want a text-only version to print, I’ve included that towards the end of the PDF.
This pattern was designed using Lion Brand 24/7 Yarn with a US Size 7 (4.5mm) hook but can be used with just about any yarn and hook combo, and can be easily adjusted in size (any changes will change the size and yarn needed). These stitches would make a great washcloth, too! The pattern has info about how to make size adjustments.
Each coaster uses approx. 30 yds (27.5 m) of yarn. To make one of each pattern, you will need approx. 210 yds (192 m) of yarn.
