SKILLS NEEDED

• The skill level needed is intermediate (but ambitious beginners are always encouraged to try!).
• The techniques you will need to know include chain, single crochet, standing single crochet, slip stitch, single crochet increase and decrease, invisible decrease, working in the back bar of the ch, half double crochet, double crochet, bobble stitch, starting an oval piece with a foundation chain, joining a chain to form a loop, surface stitching, and the adjustable (magic) ring.

• yarn in your choice of colors (approx. 321-335 yds/294-306 m of worsted/aran)
• a size E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook
• stitch markers
• tapestry needle
• stuffing
• pins
• scissors
• safety eyes
• chopstick/tweezers to help stuff

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

• Using hook size E/4 (3.5 mm) and worsted yarn, the Large Crochet Alligator measures approx. 9.5 inches (24 cm) tall in the sitting position.
• Using hook size 1.50 mm and size 10 crochet thread, the Miniature version of the Large Crochet Alligator measures approx. 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) tall in the sitting position.
