Alloro is a quiet, thoughtful shawl inspired by laurel leaves and the soft rhythm of Mediterranean landscapes.

The lace pattern flows like foliage, with small nupps scattered like tiny berries between the leaves. It’s a design that invites you to slow down, to enjoy the process as much as the finished piece. Easy-to-memorize lace sections alternate with long stretches of garter stitch, creating a gentle balance between focus and relaxation.

The triangular shape is subtly refined with short rows, giving the shawl an elongated form that sits beautifully on the shoulders. Clean i-cord edges frame the fabric and highlight the stitchwork without distraction.

Alloro is about texture, rhythm, and the quiet satisfaction of watching an idea grow stitch by stitch into something you’ll reach for again and again.

This design was created in collaboration with Fibre Gentili.

The pattern has both chart and its written instructions.

Finished measurements: the wingspan is 74” / 188 cm and the depth is 21,5”/ 65 cm after blocking.

Materials:
• Yarn: 2 skeins of Eolie by Fibre Gentili, 100% Wool ( 300 m / 50 g, 328 yds / 1.76 oz); Approx. 656 yards/ 600 meters of lace weight yarn that knits up to the gauge. The samples were knit using Eolie in Quarzo Rosa and Amour Red.
• Suggested Needles: US 6 (4.00) mm needles.
• Notions: stitch markers, darning needle, cable needle.

Gauge: 20 sts in Garter Stitch after blocking, one lace repeat is 2½”/ 6,5 cm wide and 4⅓”/ 11 cm long after blocking, with US 6 (4 mm) needles. Always use the needle size that gets you the right gauge.
