This bag was inspired by a road trip from Portland, Oregon to Los Angeles. Especially, California’s Central Coast.

The downloadable pattern has very detailed instructions ( with pictures and charts ) that guide you through the entire process.

Yarn: 5 skeins of Acadia yarn from The Fibre Co.

Hook: I used a Steel crochet hook size ( 1/2.75mm - U.S. sizing ). If you don’t like working with a steel hook, you can substitute a regular hook size B/2.25mm. It changes the gauge by about 1 stitch. Your final dimensions will be a little bigger.

Stitches: single crochet, double crochet, chain
Technique: Filet Crochet
Dimensions: 11” wide, 10” high, 3” deep
Lined: Double lined to accommodate the mesh pattern. Also, curved to match the shape of the bag.
Leather Handle

The small steel hook used with this yarn creates a dense, stable fabric for the bottom and the top band.

The long stitch ( double crochet ) used in the filet crochet pattern allows the yarn to drape beautifully and emphasizes the softness of the yarn.
