Alora is a very feminine knee length skirt that uses negative ease to create its flattering shape and accentuate your beauty. It’s intended to be worn high at the waist and uses a pretty and simple knit & purl pattern for super relaxing knitting and a stretchy fabric that allows for a very comfortable fit.
Using DK weight yarn will get you the perfect not-too-hot-yet-not-too-cold skirt for in between seasons.

Why not knit something else for a change? I promise you’ll be surprised by how wonderfully warm, beautiful and comfy you’ll feel in this skirt.

Alora can easily be styled up or down. The super elastic bind off at the bottom also allows for a stressful day having to move from A to B and catching your kids in between too.

A knitted skirt may be the one piece that’s missing from your handmade wardrobe.

Construction:
Alora is knitted top down in the round. The waist band is cast on using provisional cast on, folded over in half and the stitches are then knit together with the body stitches to create a tube to fit in the elastic band. The body part of the skirt incorporates increases at the sides towards the hip. Then the skirt is knitted straight to final length. At the bottom a narrow rib hem is added and finished by a super stretchy bind off. Finally, the ealstic is threaded through the waist band and sewn together either by hand or using a sewing machine.
