If you ever thought about adding names to your garments, this Alphabet Pattern is here to help! Originally created for hats, this pattern will work just as well for any other garment.

It includes instructions for bottom up and top down constructions, and for an appearance on the outside and the inside (think about the inside of a hat with a folded brim) of your knitwear.

The basic pattern has a 5st height, additionally there are 7-st height capitals and some letters with an extended height, such as an f, p or t, to get a more elegant appearance. All the numbers are included in the 5-st height.

There is a extended written out instruction to create your own chart, and a clear and empty chart to print and fill out for easy usage. The instructions show exactly how to create and later work with your own chart, depending on your direction of knitting and the side where the letters should appear.

You can combine this pattern with one of my hat patterns or with any other pattern you’d like an inscription in. Have fun knitting!
