Imagine sipping a hot mug on a chilly evening, the lush, oversized cables creating a tapestry of warmth that’s as beautiful to look at as it is to wear. A celebration of cozy, a stylish armor against the coming frost. With a modern fit designed to layer effortlessly, it brings an unmistakable touch of rustic elegance to your fall wardrobe. Let your needles dance and welcome the season with a project that promises to engage and delight.

Construction
We begin at the top of the back, working flat and adding increases under the arms. The upper back is then put on hold while stitches are picked up for the front left. Once the front left is worked to the under arm, the front right is worked. The body is worked in the round to your desired length. Lastly, stitches are picked up around the neck and arm holes for ribbing.

Needles & Notions
Needle size required to achieve gauge.

Sample used:
Body: US 7 / 4.5 mm circular knitting needles with a length slightly smaller than the finished circumference.
Ribbing (one size smaller): US 6 / 4 mm circular knitting needle with a length less than ~20” / 51 cm for working the arm ribbing in the round, or greater than ~40” / 102 cm for working arm ribbing using magic loop method.

Stitch markers: one unique marker for beginning of round and 6 additional markers, 1 locking stitch marker
Darning needle
Cable needle
Row counter for cable pattern (optional)

Gauge
Using the same needle size, the cable and moss stitch patterns will produce different gauges so I have listed both. The front and back cable sections are the same for all sizes. The amount of moss stitch along the sides increases with increasing size. Since the moss stitch is a much looser gauge, it was important to take that into account to achieve desired body circumference.

Front and Back Cable Pattern:
23 stitches x 32 rounds/rows = 4” / 10 cm in cable pattern, flat and in the round, blocked.

Moss Stitch Pattern on Sides:
17 stitches x 32 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in cable pattern, in the round, blocked.
