Foreword: the Amabie is a legendary Japanese mermaid or merman, with 3 fin legs, a beak, long hair and scales, who allegedly emerges from the sea. As folklore goes, sharing its image with as many people as possible helps to stave off disease.

This is a 11 page written pattern with pictures detailing parts and instructions

Materials (NOT included):
Yarn colours required: 5 colours (head, body, hair, accent colour and yellow)
3 mm crochet hook
8 mm safety eyes
Fiberfill for stuffing
Tapestry needle
Pins
Scissors
Stitch markers if required

Skill level: intermediate

Size:
10cm / 4” tall when made with the indicated or similar yarn
(To make this amigurumi it isn’t necessary to use the recommended yarn and crochet hook. Using a larger/smaller crochet hook, and a suitable yarn, the amigurumi size will vary accordingly.)

Construction:
Parts are worked separately either in the rounds or in rows depending on the item. The various items are then sewn together for the final product.
