Amadeus

Amadeus was named for the ‘Mozart for Morning Coffee’ album I was listening to when I drew up the original sketch. :) I wanted a quick-to-knit, go-with-anything cabled jacket that was machine washable. It is knit in flat pieces and seamed, with a slight a-line and a wide collar. It works up quickly in 12 ply on US 10 (6mm) needles.

Amadeus features options! 3/4 or long slimline sleeves, long or short body lengths, closed with a button or clasp or left open, or could also be belted. The pattern comes in four sizes, small through to extra large (30” - 42” chest).

The collar is knit along with the front pieces, extended around the back neck and bound off with a three-needle bind off. It could also be grafted. No extra finishing is required - the nine-stitch plait makes an in-built neat front edge and there are no stitches to pick up!

You will need to know how to work from cable charts, as collar is CHARTED ONLY.

Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 12 ply 100% wool in col. Plum in size 34”/medium, and Bendigo Woollen Mills Stellar 12 ply 50% wool 50% bamboo in col. Moonstone, also in size 34”/medium.
