This American Flag Turtle is knitted flat and then seamed. The 50 ‘stars’ of the American flag are created by a series of bobbles in a contrasting color.
Step by step instructions are given for each piece and there’s a section at the end to show you how to put them all together.

Materials Required- 2.75mm knitting needles, tapestry needle, toy stuffing (~60gms) and colored yarn.

Gauge: Not important, but do ensure to knit tight enough so that the stuffing does not show through on the body and the eyes.

Approximate finished size is 25cm x 16cm

Yarn required:
(20gm) James C Brett Top Value DK 8417 Royal Blue
(25gm) Stylecraft Special DK 1010 Matador

Kfb: Knit the stitch, but before taking the stitch off the needle, insert tip of working needle into the backside of the loop and knit that stitch too.
MWB : Make White Bobble by using the WHITE yarn, knit into the next stitch, but before slipping off the stitch bring the yarn to the front and purl into the same stitch, do not slip off, return the the yarn to the back and knit into the same stitch, turn, and purl all the three stitches together, turn, and knit the stitch with the BLUE yarn, do not cut off the white yarn until the last bobble is completed in the same row, simply carry the yarn from the last bobble over the back of the work to complete the next bobble. Cut the yarn at the end of the row and start a new thread at the beginning of the new row.
