Introduction:

Hello and thank you for joining me for my very first MKAL!
I hope you find knitting this pattern as enjoyable as I did creating it!
This MKAL comprises of a right angled triangle shawl that has alternating
sections of solid and lace stitches; with each section being different.
This shawl was designed with beginners in mind but is also perfectly suitable
for more advanced knitters, The goal being to build skills in each section.
I chose the name American Honey Shawl because the term ‘American Honey’
refers to a small town girl who grew up slow and sweet, an all- American girl,
or the girl next door sweetheart; which is what this shawl represents to me.
This shawl also has characteristics of elegance, strength, and beauty with just
a touch of femininity which seems very befitting to its name.
Again, enjoy this MKAL and if you should have any questions about any
parts of this pattern you can contact me at thepsychodelicsheep@gmail.com

Materials:

For this pattern you will need:
Gauge: 5sts x 9 rows = 1” in Garter St.
If you would like to have your shawl be a gradiated color then you can work
the pattern till you either get to the end of the section, or want to changed
colors then start blending by knitting 2 rows of the new color and 2 rows of
the old color until you run out or do not have enough to go another row; then
just continue on with the new color.
If you’d like to make yours in the same yarn that I did, I started blending my
colors when about 10 grams were left in the beginning and when about 6
grams were left towards the bottom of the shawl.
* At least 450 yards of Sport Weight yarn ( a solid color or multicolor will
work). You can also use a DK, fingering, or
Lace weight if you prefer.
Stitch marker
Darning needle
* 40” circular needle in 3-4 needle sizes bigger than what
your yarn choice calls for

Happy Knitting!
