Ami is the third installment of my sweater designs inspired by Sailor Moon! Ami or Sailor Mercury is the smart one in the group, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t have great fashion! I can see her wearing this 90s inspired sweater while studying for her midterms.

Ami features a wide, scooped (but not too low) neckline, 3/4 length drop sleeves, and a cropped body. There are a small number of short rows to help shape the shoulders. It is worked top down, starting at the upper back.

Final dimensions
Chest Circumference: 30 (34, 38, 42, 46)(50, 54, 58, 62)”/76 (86.5, 96.5, 106.5, 117)(127, 137, 147.5, 157.5)cm
The model on page 1 has a 40”/101.5cm full chest circumference and is wearing a Size 3 with -2”/-5cm ease. It is recommended to choose a size that will give you –4” to 0”/-10cm to 0cm ease at full chest measurement.

Materials
Yarn
Hawari Bazaar Damask DK (75% superwash merino, 25% nylon; 245yds/224m/100g) in colorway Sailor Mercury

Or size to obtain gauge.
Choosing a length for circular needle: choose a length that will comfortably fit the stitches required for your chest circumference. Suggested: 32”/80cm for Sizes 1-5, 40”/100cm for Sizes 6-9. DPNs are used for the sleeves (or you can work magic loop).

Gauge
21 sts x 30 rows = 4” x 4”/10cm x 10cm in Stockinette Stitch on larger needles, blocked. (Some people’s gauge changes between knitting flat versus in the round. It is advised to check both gauges and adjust needle size as needed.)
