CONSTRUCTION
The piece is worked flat from the back hem to the shoulders, then divided for the front ties. Stitches are bound off for the back neck, and the ties are worked separately while the remaining stitches are held aside.

Integrated slipped-stitch edges continue from the back along the outer edges of the ties, while the inner edges are finished with garter stitch. Once both ties are complete, stitches are picked up along the inner edge to work an applied slipped-stitch edging. An optional ribbed loop band, worked in the round, can be added to hold the ties together when worn.
