The bonus make for this year’s collection is the Whimsical Snowglobe – make one or two in DK or Aran weight cotton to show off your favourite mini amigurumi in a cute wintery display for many years to come!
The Amigurumi Advent 2024 Mystery Crochet-Along in short:
- 24 mystery parts (revealed daily from the 1st to 24th of December, advent-style)
- 1 bonus make to start (The Snowglobe!)
- a wintery palette with fun pastels (Brrr, it’s cold outside!!)
- lots of fun!
This year’s collection is inspired by serene snowy Wonderland - with frosty hues and pastel tones, new amigurumi friends and lots of arctic charm!
For this MCAL we are using Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK (100% cotton, 50g/125m/127yds), it’s a nice thickness for making Amigurumi.
Please note the yarn is not included with the MCAL pattern and needs to be purchased separately.
This is the yarn list to make the 24 surprise amigurumi:
White (Champagne White 403)
Beige (Vanilla Cream 408)
Brown (Soft Fudge 410)
Peach (Peach Orange 455)
Yellow (Daffodil Yellow 422)
Pink (Blush Pink 454)
Lilac (Dusty Rose 442)
Sage (Pine Green 467)
Mint (Macaron Green 470)
Blue (Cerulean Blue 474)
For the regular size Snowglobe allow around 30g of DK weight cotton for the dome and 20g of DK weight cotton for the base. For the larger size Snowglobe allow around 60g of Aran weight cotton for the Dome and 40g of Aran weight cotton for the base. We used Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran (100% cotton, 50g/85m/93yds) to make the sample.
Of course you are welcome to use a different yarn! This is a nice stash-busting project, as small makes don’t need as much yardage. This year’s collection will look great in all kinds of colour combinations!
Throughout the month do join us in the Amigurumi Adventures Ravelry group and on Instagram, where we will be on hand to answer any questions and chat all things crochet. Be sure to share and tag your makes with #amigurumiadvent2024
Happy Merry Crafting!
