About the pattern: This is a crochet pattern for a sweet little amigurumi bear tucked inside a cute crochet cupcake case. He peeks out over the frill at the top, a little Peek a Bear!

Brief Instructions: This pattern is written using US crochet terminology. The pattern begins with the bear which is crocheted in one piece in a continuous spiral from the top down, increasing and decreasing stitches to achieve a little blue ball of cuteness. Next two little discs are crocheted for each ear, followed by the muzzle. The bear is assembled before moving on to the cute little cupcake case which is also crocheted in spirals. The base is crocheted first, followed by the sides and topped off with a cute little frill. For a final flourish add a pretty crochet flower.

Size: finished size of this amigurumi is about 2.5inches.

Gauge: I haven’t specified a gauge as it will vary from person to person and the brand of yarn that you use. However, try to keep your crochet stitches nice and tight. The aim is to have a ball that can be stuffed firmly with none of the stuffing visible from outside.

Materials: The sample shown was crocheted in Hayfield Bonus DK (a good value yarn here in the UK) using a 3.25mm crochet hook. This is an ideal project for using up your leftover scraps of yarn. You will also need a small quantity of polyester fiberfill, a blunt sewing needle, embroidery floss, small safety eyes (optional) and T pins (normal sewing pins might get lost in the amigurumi so please be careful), 1.5mm (size 8) steel crochet hook.
