This is a crochet pattern for you to make you own Amigurumi Japanese Kokeshi Doll with a bun on her head, just like traditional Kokeshi Dolls often have. She is inspired by my collection of traditional wooden Japanese Kokeshi dolls. She would make a wonderful ornament or a sweet doll for someone special.

The finished doll is approximately 14.5cm (5 3/4 inches) tall and made out of DK yarn (8 ply wool). Worsted weight wool would work well too. Felt is used to add detail.

The pattern is written in US terms and is very easy to follow, with detailed written instructions and plenty of images to help you make your doll. She is made in amigurumi style (crochet in the round) and would be suitable for those who already know basic crochet skills.
