Hello,
you can use the wool or cotton that you prefer for your amigurumi.
The size of the whale depends on your wool.

You will need:

Wool of two colors (one for the body and the other for the belly contrast)
Safety eyes (or felt to make the eyes)
Padding
Crochet, scorer and knitting needle.
