Amigurumi Tardigrade
Tardigrades, or ‘water bears’ are microscopic creatures that can survive in the most extreme conditions… and they’re also surprisingly cute!
I’ve been a bit obsessed with these guys since I discovered them online and I just had to make one for myself - and now you can too!
This is a great pattern for the science nerd in your life (it could be yourself!) or as a unique children’s toy. The body is worked in one piece from the tail upwards and each of the legs are made and added on separately. The finished piece is around 15cm long, but you can experiment with different yarn & hook combos to create a whole gang of tardigrades in different sizes!
Materials required:
- 8 ply acrylic yarn in two colours
- 4.0 mm crochet hook
- Stuffing
- Yarn needle
- 8.0 mm safety eyes
