This Amira Bouquet Shawl is designed to knit from the pointed start with the small flowers pattern until the desired length, and then the main color and contrasting color are switched so that the leafy edge pops out. Two color garter stitch allows for smooth transition between flowers and leaves. The shawl gives an impression of leaves wrapping around the flowers in a bouquet.

Using a larger than usual needle size gives the brioche a light and lacy look while keeping that 3-dimensional brioche squishiness. I really like the look of this finished shawl after blocking, light enough for any season!

Skill level: Intermediate. Basic brioche skills are recommended.

Techniques used: knit, purl, brioche knit (brk), brioche purl (brp), brioche increases, decreases, 2 colors garter stitch, asymmetrical triangle shawl shaping.

This shawl may look complicated, but flowers stitches are made by increasing and decreasing the brioche stitches (no ‘Br4st dec’ at all) and are so much fun once you learn!

Construction Notes: This stitch pattern is fairly easy to memorize after working a few repeats, as you can watch the small flowers through the shawl. The leaves edge color is switched the MC and CC color to make the edge look pop from the shawl body.

This asymmetrical triangle shawl is knit flat from cast on tip to bind off edge, with increases at the left edge of the shawl. This shawl can be easily modified by adding the shawl body repeats!

This pattern is both written and charted, for your convenience!
