Ammonite fossils are a common find on the beaches of Dorset’s Jurassic coast. The distinctive spiral shape of these extinct free-swimming molluscs is the inspiration for this hat. It is knitted in local Dorset wool, spun from the fleece of Shetland sheep which graze near the coastal village of Burton Bradstock. The hat is a warm and cosy addition to fossil hunting trips to the beach.
