Ammonites were shelled cephalopods that died out about 66 million years ago. Fossils of them are found all around the world, sometimes in very large concentrations. This crochet hat features a spiral shaped accent, reminiscent of this common fossil, that transitions into the ribbed brim. The main hat has bands of textured stitches, just like different strata in a fossil dig site.
