Material
Vierfädige Sockenwolle mit einer Maschenprobe von ca. 30 Maschen auf 10 cm. Wir haben bei dieser Anleitung Schachenmayr Merino Yak (400 m/100 g) verwendet.

Da die Maschenzahl in allen Größen durch 8 teilbar sein muss, nutzen wir je nach Größe Nadelstärke 2,5 oder 3,0 – so kommen wir bei derselben Maschenzahl auf verschiedene Beinumfänge und das Muster geht auf.

Garnwahl
Ihr könnt praktisch jede verfädige Sockenwolle verwenden, wir empfehlen aber eher einfarbige/höchstens ganz zart gemusterte Garne, damit das Lochmuster gut zur Geltung kommt.
In den kleinsten Größen, wenn die Socken noch nicht stark strapaziert werden, passt auch feine Merinowolle, z.B. Cool Wool Baby von Lana Grossa oder Sandnes Lanett Babyull.

ENGLISH VERSION
These socks are worked in the round from the top down with a French heel. The shaft and the instep are worked with our Merle lace pattern. The heel, sole and toe are knitted in stockinette st.
Since the number of stitches must be divisible by 8 in all sizes, we use either needle size 2.5 or 3.0 mm (US 1.5 or 2.5) depending on the size - this way we get different leg circumferences with the same number of stitches and the pattern fits.

4-ply sock yarn with a gauge of 30 sts / 10 cm (4”).
In this pattern, we used Schachenmayr Merino Yak (400 m/100 g - 438 yds/3.5 oz).
Since the number of stitches in all sizes must be divisible by 8, we use needle size 2.5 or 3.0 mm (US 1.5 or 2.5) depending on the size - this way we get different leg circumferences with the same number of stitches and the lace pattern fits in all sizes.

The lace pattern is very stretchy. The circumference is therefore a bit smaller than usual.

Yarn choices
While you can use basically any 4-ply sock yarn for this pattern, we recommend using a solid or only lightly speckled colour, so as not to overwhelm the lace pattern.
In the smallest sizes, for babies that cannot walk yet, fine merino wool is also suitable. We recommend Cool Wool Baby from Lana Grossa or Sandnes Lanett Babyull.
