AMULETT
Amulett is a colorful slouchy hat knit sideways, with short rows creating rainbow gemstones. It is meant to have a slight negative ease initially, as the garter stitch tends to stretch and relax a bit with time. If you want a larger hat you can just add an extra repeat of the two charts, and if you want it less slouchy you can use a lighter yarn & smaller needles.

An amulet (amulett in Swedish) is a magical luck charm which will protect its owner. The word comes from the latin Amuletum, meaning “an object that protects a person from trouble”. Amulett has the same facet pattern as Fasett, Kabarett (coming soon) and Vinjett, in case you want to knit a matching shawl, cowl and/or wrist warmers.

GENERAL
Amulett is a hat knit sideways, with the crown of the hat worked into the short-rows. It starts with a provisional cast-on which is later sewn up in a seam that becomes part of the hat pattern. The facets are created using short-rows.
