This scarf is designed to replicate the one Amy Pond wore in the Doctor Who episode “Vampires of Venice.” I looked and looked for a pattern that looked right, but none of the ones I found on fan sites really looked right to me. Then, looking at swatches in my LYS, I saw a pattenr that looked JUST RIGHT. It was a motif from one of the Barbara Walker lace treasuries, the Trellis-Framed Leaf motif. I quickly began knitting and testing to get the right width and number of motifs, and I’m pretty satisfied that it looks close to the one Amy wears.

Some people might want to make it wider; simply increase the number of repetitions of the lace pattern and make sure to leave three selvage stitches on either side. You can also use a heavier yarn; just make sure to adjust your needle size accordingly.
