A pattern for an afghan, knitted in squares and joined together, with a 5cm edging added after the afghan is assembled. Each square features an Australian location, animal or bird, floral emblem or other symbol.

The pattern booklet does not give actual quantities of yarn needed. It is an ideal pattern to use up small amounts of different coloured 8 ply or DK yarns left over from other projects. The afghan can be given a unified look through knitting the square edges and final edging in the same neutral colour.
