** An Essential Hoodie **

An Essential Hoodie is knit top down, raglan style. The built-in 2” of ease allows for under layers and a relaxed fit. It begins with neck/collar shaping, divides for sleeves, then body is worked and finished with a twisted rib hem. Stitches from collar are picked up for hood.

An Essential Hoodie came to life years ago when I wanted to make an easy, relaxed fit, classic and comfortable fitting sweater for a friend’s baby.  Since children grow so fast and often grow out of cute handknits before they can even wear them, I wanted a garment that babies could wear for more than a month or two.  After many versions that I’ve made, this is the one that has been the most adored by friends, its the most wearable, and the most adaptable for our growing babies!  I hope you enjoy making this as much as I have, and I’m so happy I can share this with you.

Thank you to Judi, The Friendly Tech Editor, for her professionalism and guidance in this process.
