Anadara is a semi-circular garter rib shawl based on a pi shawl construction. Widening ribs develop organically before reaching the scalloped edging.

This shawl works up quickly in fingering weight yarn knit at a loose gauge. Choose a needle size between a US 6-9 (4.0-5.5 mm)…as long as you like the fabric you’re getting.

This shawl is an excellent way to use a hand-dyed yarn with a coordinating trim color. The updated version includes instructions for working with high contrast colorways.

The finished size is customizable. With ~400 yds of the main color, you should be able to get a shawl that is approximately 18” deep. For a larger shawl, simply increase the size of section 5. The amount of contrasting color is the same for all sizes, approximately 250 yds.
