Anchors Away is a shawlette/cowl. I added a couple of buttons so it will sit nicely around your neck without any fuss.

The sun loving aspect of HiKoo®’s Abracadabra inspired this pattern. With a desire to make the most of this color changing yarn I needed a pattern that would look just as good in a solid color. Despite the wool content, this really did strike me as a yarn for summer. Perhaps you will wear this on a breezy ship deck, or pull it out of your bag to lightly warm your shoulders when you catch a summer blockbuster at the movies. This pattern is also written as a color work project so you could work it in any yarn of your preference.

The shawlette is an asymmetric triangle. You begin with the long end so it works faster and faster as you go. I worked button holes into the border so you could close it up and make it more like a cowl. If you are not interested in buttons, or want to decide at a later date, consider it a decorative border element.

The sample shawlette was made in all 4 colors available in Abracadabra simply because I wanted to play with all of them. You certainly don’t need that much yarn if you want it in fewer than 4 colors, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for your interest in this, and any of my other patterns.
