The Anders Mitts are a part of the Geek-A-Long pattern series. The Geek-A-Long was created to raise awareness for Child’s Play Charity. $1 from each sale of this pattern will be donated to Child’s Play. So que up some binge watching, grab your needles, and congratulate yourself on making the world a little brighter.

Inspired by the epic love story of Starbuck and Anders (Battlestar Galactica), these Mitts are the perfect accessory for the hardcore Cylon hunters we all have inside us. Designed as an advanced knit for advanced knitters, the Anders Mitts feature an inner fingerless mitt, and an outer mitten with colorwork based on Starbuck’s and Anders’ tattoo. The mitts are written for one size, but you can adjust up or down by changing your needle size. A complimenting hat (the Anders Hat) makes a complete cold weather set, and just one ball of Lattes & Llamas Geek-A-Long Yarn in each color used is enough wool to make both projects.

Some aspects of this pattern are easily modified to suit your style and fit. The internal mitten can be as long or short as you want. If you prefer, you could just work chart A on the external mitten if you’d rather just have the polka dots. If you have a wider thumb, you can omit the color work on the thumb and knit it in a solid color so that it will have more stretch. Think about what would make the mittens perfect for you, and then make them your own!

Worked in soft, vibrant, Geek-A-Long Sport Weight Yarn by Lattes & Llamas, 2 100g balls of yarn (1 of each color) are enough to make the Anders Mitts and it’s sister pattern: Anders Hat (also available on Ravelry)

Recommended Yarn: 2 balls (100g) Lattes & Llamas Geek-A-Long Yarn in 2 sharply contrasting colors. Sample is knit in Invisible Jet (silver) and Gotham (Dark Teal).
