Hello!

I’m happy to share my free tutorial on how to knit these cozy winter slippers. This method creates a double-layered construction, which ensures extra sturdiness and warmth. The construction can be customized to almost any yarn weight and needle size.

The yarn used in the tutorial is Cascade 220 held double, but you can use any non-stretch yarn and customize the number of stitches and needle size if needed. Due to this, I also don’t include gauge as the instructions (recipe) is meant to fit whatever yarn and needles you want to use.

Approximate yarn requirements (please note that your meterage/yardage may vary):

For sock yarn: approximately 200g
For worsted weight held double: approximately 200g (sizes EU 36-40), 300g (sizes EU 40-45)

If you have any questions, feel free to message me.

I would describe the difficulty as advanced beginner, and below are all the techniques used in my tutorial:

  • Long-tail cast on
  • Knitting in the round
  • Knitting on DPNs
  • KFB (increase stitch)
  • M1L (left-leaning increase)
  • M1R (right-leaning increase)
  • K2TOG (right-leaning decrease)
  • SSK (left-leaning decrease)
  • Grafting/casting off using Kitchener Stitch

I would also advise you to watch the video tutorial before you start your project and select your yarn.

Happy Knitting!
