Andrew and his brother Struan are fraternal twins, similar but not identical, so they needed hats on the same theme. The patterning on the two hats is the same, but one is created using a textured stitch pattern and the other using stranded colourwork.

In five sizes from Baby (14” hat circumference) up to Large Adult (22” hat circumference), Andrew’s Brother’s Hat has a textured pattern made using twisted stitches. Pattern tension is 24 stitches and 32 rows over 4 inches (10cm) using DK yarn and 4mm (US 6) needles. It is wise to check your tension to ensure correct sizing and yardage needs. All sizes refer to the circumference of the unstretched hat. Allow around 2” (5cm) negative ease for each size.

You need to be able to work in the round, work twisted stitches (1-over-1 cables), and work basic decreases.
