The colour palettes have been designed to use 3 gradient shades from dark to light, with a contrasting pop of colour, against a neutral background. It is a great way to experiment with colour in a simple repeating pattern on the body of the hat, topped with a 7 pointed star crown.

The hat is knitted in the round in either double pointed or circular needles, with a corrugated rib.

The version in blues, is also an experiment in combining a pure Shetland wool with a luxury hand dyed yarn with silk and cashmere.

The pattern includes charts for both the red (Summer Berries) and blue (Sea Breeze) colour ways.
