Anisoptera is a bottom up shawl variable in size and is based on a traditional Estonian pattern. The initial cast on is done using the larger needle for additional stretchiness. Optional beads decorate the spine of the shawl.

The size may easily be changed by adding or decreasing the stitch count by multiples of 20.

The finished shawl will have a slight dip in the middle of the back at the spine.

To make the shawl more of a wrap, bind off about halfway through the decreases. The blue shawl pictured started with 255 stitches and was bound off at 140 stitches.

A note on gauge: The listed gauge is a suggestion only. Use a needle size that will get you the fabric that you like.

Shawl shown in pattern measured aproximately 3 1/2 feet in depth and had a wingspan of aproximately 5 1/2 feet.
